Puffed Rice Upma

Recipe Ingredients:
2 cups puffed rice
1/4 cup chopped onions
1/4 cup chopped potato
1/4 cup chopped tomato
2 green chillies, finely chopped
10 curry leaves
2 red chillies,  slit into two
1 tbsp oil
1/2 tbsp split black gram


1/2 tbsp split golden gram
1/2 tbsp split bengal gram

1/2 tbsp mustard seeds

1/2 tbsp cumin seeds
salt (according to taste)

How to Prepare:
Take a big bowl, fill half of it with water. Soak puffed rice in water for a minute or less, remove them from water by taking handfulls and firmly squeezing the water from them by pressing hands together tightly. Repeat the same process with the remaining puffed rice and keep it aside untill needed.
Heat oil in pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, split black gram, split golden gram, split bengal gram, dry red chillies and curry leaves. Fry them untill split bengal gram turns light brown colour, add green chillies, chopped onions, chopped potatoes and chopped tomatoes. Cook them for about 10 minutes on medium heat. Finally add puffed rice and salt, mix well. Serve hot.
